Herbaceous & Delicious: The Last Word Vintage Cocktail

Thursday, March 7, 2019

Top of the morning, friends, because we have a drink that's going to make your tastebuds sing springtime in the tune of emerald! Next up in Sips & Bites, a food and drink series that is focused on beautifully and deliciously inspiring treats for wedding and home celebrations, our Food and Drink editor, Lindsay, got inspired by the past, all-natural ingredients, and green velvet when mixing up this special seasonal cocktail that's perfect for an Art Deco-inspired wedding or any date night with total speakeasy vibes.

The Last Word signature cocktail idea for springtime weddings

In searching for a more sophisticated, all natural drink for St. Patrick's Day, I came across this Prohibition Era cocktail: The Last Word. While the ingredients are simple, the taste is anything but. It's herbaceous and strikes a balance between sweet, sour, and aromatic. It's simply and absolutely delicious! So this year, go ahead and skip the green food coloring, and shimmy on over to your bar cart to try an old favorite.
