Williamsburg Wedding with Jumping the Broom Tradition

With vibrant orange and lime green as their color palette, there isn't one detail that doesn't express TJ and Audrey's bright and cheerful personalities! It was a modern, yet traditional day, particularly during the ceremony where the couple chose to pay homage to their heritage with the African wedding tradition of jumping the broom. We love the symbolism of binding the couple in marriage, "sweeping away" their old lives, and leaping into their new lives together as husband and wife. And TJ's smile at his bride afterwards that jump is everything wonderful about love!

Captured by DCPG Photography and designed by Vivid Expressions, the colorful tangerine bridesmaid dresses and dapper gray groomsmen suits complemented the colorful green elements of the Williamsburg Winery and the rest of the wedding vision. Between the stick figure cake topper to the personalized mad lib cards on the reception tables, dashes of quirky touches were woven throughout the special day. But the sweetest inspiration is that TJ and Audrey's love shone brightest as they held each other close and kissed during sunset portraits. And that's what it's all about.
