Choosing a Wedding Dress for Your Shape

Different silhouettes and shapes can convey your wedding day theme, personality, and even your bridal style. I'm so happy to have Erika of Artfully Wed here today to share one of her amazing infographics that is perfectly pinnable for now and later!

Fun and Intimate Beachhouse Wedding

A whirlwind romance with a chance encounter at the park with their kids, Erin and Lonnie are the picture perfect military couple who radiates joy, love, and excitement for life. (And you see it transparently on their faces all throughout their wedding day!)

In a beautiful intimate beach house wedding in Sandbridge, these two dreamed of a casual celebration for their families and friends... and it was all planned in a matter of weeks since Lonnie was given orders for deployment!

With a tea-length gown from Blush Bridal and a playful birdcage veil, Erin was a beach bride beauty... and from the look of it with McPherson Photography's captures, Lonnie thought so, too!

Relaxed Metallic Coastal Wedding Inspiration

With the ocean blue and warm sandy tones, the metallic copper just complements the coastal vibe perfectly. Conceptualized and styled by Elizabeth Friske Photography, this creative team wanted to pull in the relaxed elements found common at the beach, but also wanted the modern touch of chic metal.

Described as wild and less structured, the florals arranged by Palette of Petals added the richness in color and the makeup and hair by Behind the Veil Studio rounded out the natural bridal beauty.

By adding in little copper details, engaged couples can add color and theme dimension to a beachy theme! It's a win-win any season.

Glamorous Black Tie Anniversary Session

The best part about anniversary sessions are the visions and personal details that couples weave into celebrating their marriage together, especially when it just so happens to involve a little one on the way. And Adrienne and Josh wanted to do just that. Being a local wedding planner, Adrienne just knows how to make that vision come to life not just through style, but through words. I need to let her take the stage for this one:

Our idea was to have a black tie glam anniversary shoot, and there's a reason for that. These past two years have been insane for us to say the least-- my mom's illness progressing, his grandma's illness progressing, our goals in fiscal fitness, our crazy schedules, and everything in between. But in the midst of all the crazy, God has continued to bring increase into our lives, day by day! And it's not that we have done or said all the right things, or that we always did or said things that were pleasing in God's sight... because let's be honest, we're not perfect, but we are saved by grace. And as we embark on this journey of becoming new parents, we have realized and appreciated more than ever that no matter how ugly or how difficult we can be, God loves us and He views us in ways that we couldn't even begin to see ourselves. God's love and grace, and our willingness to accept His grace, are what truly makes us beautiful, and we really hope to capture that in our anniversary photos this year to serve as a reminder when times get difficult and rough (especially as we become new parents!).

Captured by Chelsea Anderson Photography, these two wove their elegant ideas into a shoot meant just for them. With gorgeous statement earrings, handsome modern tuxedo, and a love to see them through the next chapter of their marriage, Adrienne and Josh made Norfolk look good!

Quirky Handmade Food Truck Wedding

On a private wheat farm in the Pungo area of Virginia Beach, Sara and Tom exchanged their I Do's surrounded by their closest loved ones. And in signature Sara and Tom fashion, they took on the task of creating all of the decorations themselves... which we know is no easy feat!

From the custom craft beer station, to the delicious tacos from the Panavoir Food Truck, to the flowers that the wedding party made into bouquets, Sara, Tom, and their wedding party truly made the most of a completely do-it-yourself attitude.

Like most couples, they really wanted to put their own personality stamp on their wedding, and when you add in "chick magnet" bowties and karaoke during the reception, you know their stamp was made of fun, good times! Thankfully, Leigh Skaggs Photography was there to capture it all.
