Planned by Carson Ashby Events and beautifully photographed by Heather Dodge Photography, this colorful November wedding transformed a familiar venue into an immersive reflection of the couple's joyful personalities, shared history, and love story.
Why We Love This Wedding: This colorful country club wedding completely flipped tradition on its head with bold maximalist patterns and playful energy woven into every moment — from the laser-cut satin floral wedding dress and nostalgic candy buffet to the over-the-top bubble exit. It's inspiring to couples who dream of classic venues with modern aesthetic for their special days!

Colorful Maximalism Wedding Inspiration in a Classic Country Club Setting
Having attended events at the country club many times before, Lauren and Devon wanted their wedding day to feel entirely different from anything guests had previously experienced there. Inspired by the venue’s traditional yet modern wallpaper and interiors, the couple embraced a playful palette of orange, coral, yellow, burgundy, and pink, layering bold prints and vibrant textures throughout the celebration in a way that felt elevated, artistic, and true to them.

A Patterned Wedding Dress and Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses Full of Autumn Color
Their wedding style beautifully balanced sophistication with whimsy. Lauren stunned in a white floral laser-cut satin appliqué wedding dress that perfectly complemented the day's maximalist aesthetic, while her bridesmaids each selected their own dresses in coordinating shades of orange, pink, burgundy, and rust for an intentionally mismatched look that gave the vibes of effortlessly curated. The rich mix of colors created a fashion-forward wedding party palette that felt autumnal without leaning into traditional fall wedding themes.

Meaningful University of Virginia Wedding Details
Personal details from the couple's relationship were thoughtfully woven into every part of the day. After falling in love while attending the University of Virginia together, Lauren and Devon included subtle UVA-inspired touches throughout the wedding, including orange and blue reception florals and the groom's cufflinks honoring where their story began.

Bold Maximalist Wedding Decor with Artistic Details
The reception design embraced the couple's love of color and creativity at every turn. A custom white drinks bar featured striking pink, orange, and yellow floral poppy-patterned panels that became an instant focal point of the reception space, while eclectic patterned napkins and florals gave the traditional venue an entirely fresh personality. Even the guest book reflected the artistic energy of the celebration, with guests signing a coffee table art book featuring iconic works including Piet Mondrian's Broadway Boogie Woogie. We especially loved the high-and-low floral centerpieces by Black Creek Flowers, and the bride's joyful bouquet featuring both petite daisies and oversized statement blooms mixed with ranunculus and dahlias for an organic, garden-inspired look bursting with texture and color.

A Nostalgic Candy Buffet and Well-Loved Wedding Cake Flavors
Adding even more favorites to the reception, Lauren and Devon fully embraced nostalgic wedding fun with a candy buffet filled with gummy worms and Starbursts — a playful nod to one of their shared love of candy. Their three-tiered wedding cake with hand-piped detailing and vibrant floral accents also brought the popular flavors of strawberry and almond for guests to enjoy.

Bubble Tunnel Exit and Sparkly Mini Dress for the Finale
As the evening continued, the celebration shifted into party mode with espresso martinis served as a late-night treat (perfect for a fall wedding menu!), and Lauren changed into a sparkling beaded mini dress paired with classic white Converse sneakers, perfectly capturing the stylish yet playful energy that defined the entire wedding day. But the grand finale couldn't be anything but maximalist, too!The newlyweds made their unforgettable grand exit through an explosion of bubbles before heading off in one of the country club golf carts. It just goes to show that you can transform traditional venues into a personalized, modern event with a design-led vision and a couple who loves it all.
