From City Beginnings to a Full-Circle Proposal
Emily and Jacob first crossed paths while working for the New York City Council, though it took a shift into separate offices (and a few winter dates) for something to truly spark. What followed was a relationship built on everyday joys: long walks, favorite takeout rituals, and weekend adventures with their dog, Woodson. When the world slowed down during the pandemic, their connection only deepened. Exploring the city at a different pace gave their relationship a steady rhythm — one that made Jacob's proposal feel like a natural next step rather than a surprise twist. Set at Island Oyster restaurant on Governor’s Island, Jacob planned a moment that mirrored their story: skyline views, a shared lobster roll, and then, finally, a proposal that marked the beginning of their next chapter. The lobster roll will become a theme in this story, so read on!

A Coastal Ceremony with Modern, Minimalist Style
Their Rhode Island wedding ceremony embraced the beauty of its surroundings. A modern, asymmetrical greenery arch framed the couple as they said "I do," with beachside views stretching across the bay and out to the Atlantic Ocean. We just adore this design balance: minimalist and chic, yet far from understated. It let nature's color palette share in the moment!

A Newport Wedding with Personality (and Disco Balls)
From the very beginning, Emily and Jacob had one priority: this wedding needed to feel like a party. Disco balls became the unexpected hero of their wedding design, woven throughout every detail from their invitation suite to their reception tables. With the help of their artist friend, Molly Lastra, their vision of "elegant but fun" came to life in a way that felt cohesive, playful, and completely personal.

A Stylish Wardrobe with Thoughtful Transformations
The morning started off with Emily wearing the most fun oysters-and-lemons pajamas to get ready in, so you know it foreshadows into a personalized wedding day. The bride's gown by NEWHITE delivered a two-in-one moment that we're loving right now: a romantic ceremony look with a sheer overskirt that transformed into a sleek, modern silhouette for the reception.Jacob matched that same stylish energy with a velvet tux that revealed a hidden Monet-inspired water-lily lining. But the best part? He paired his look with emerald green martini-glass loafers that made it clear he understood the fun-but-sophisticated assignment!

A Celebration Rooted in Joy, Tradition, and a Little Bit of Chaos
In true Newport fashion, the couple snuck away at one point to local foodie icon Flo's Clam Shack, grabbing a hot dog and lobster roll for a delicious pause in the middle of the celebration. Taking time away from a traditional wedding day timeline to enjoy moments representative of your love story is something we will always champion!Following their ceremony (complete with the joyful Jewish wedding tradition of breaking of the glass), the electric celebration kicked into high gear. The horah had guests lifting the couple high above the dance floor, with Jacob’s dad joining in for a moment that was equal parts hilarious and heartfelt.
As the sun dipped lower, the night unfolded into exactly what they had envisioned all along: the best party they’d ever hosted.

A Newport Beach House Wedding That Redefines Timeless
Emily and Jacob's wedding is proof that timeless doesn't have to mean traditional. By pairing clean, minimalist design with playful disco-inspired details and an unmistakably lively atmosphere, they created a day that felt true to who they are — joyful, stylish, and connected to the people and places around them. This celebration is a reminder that you don't have to choose between elegance and energy. With the right vision, you can absolutely have both.
