It's only fitting that a wedding so many years in the making would feature heirloom details that reminded Megan and Christian of the heritage they both have. The groom wore his grandfather’s monogrammed gold cufflinks, and the bride wore her mother's wedding dress in a modern redesign. They ‘buried the bourbon’ as part of their wedding traditions, and a handfasting ceremony using Scottish tartan fabric from London served as a sweet symbol of their family history. The whole day culminated in a classic handmade style at The Estate at Independence outside of Richmond, and it was captured perfectly by Awesomesauce Photography.
Besides the beautiful heirlooms, we are obsessed with the bride’s faux fur stole, one of the most fun groom's cakes we’ve ever seen (cards, poker chips and a cigar!), and above all, a love that has already lasted decades – with many more beautiful years to come.
