When a Bride's Namesake Gemstone Inspires

Amethyst fell in love with Jamel’s selflessness long ago, and it is this love that has gotten them through the happiest times and long deployments during his career with the Navy. When it came time to say I Do, they wanted to celebrate in a close-knit way and chose Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as the date of their special celebration so friends and family could join them for the perfect three-day weekend. Amethyst's bright and colorful personality came through with her beautiful namesake gemstone ring, vibrant art murals decorating downtown Hampton, and the radiant smile she wore all day long.

With deep purples, reds, and winter white as their color palette, The Historic Post Office proved to be the ideal setting for Amethyst and Jamel's wedding. Its natural charm and beauty sealed the deal for this couple's celebratory vision of a January wedding. With Fowler Studios capturing the joy-filled day with its custom donut wall, memorable dance with their daughter, and stylish cold weather accessories (like the bride's gorgeous jewel-toned faux fur capelet!), this is a wedding that brought families together on a historic day of remembrance for us all.
