Classic Rustic Style Meets Handmade Loveliness

Visions of rustic romance dappled with dusty blue and white were what inspired Morgan and Kevin's special day at Alturia Farm outside of Richmond, Virginia. It was important for them to stick to their set budget, so Morgan was determined to personalize their wedding with as much handmade decor as possible, making it even more meaningful to them because of it. Built by the groom and their families, the gorgeous wooden wedding arbor and ceremony doors were works of art that also were later upcycled at the couple's home afterwards. (The arbor was transformed into a backyard swing -- we love that!)

Photographed by Hart of Grace Photography and coordinated by Petals and Lace Events, Morgan and Kevin's barn celebration was brimming with greenery, wood slices, and cozy details to welcome guests to a sweet outdoor event to remember. A yummy tiered semi-naked wedding cake made by Kevin's aunt was surrounded by columns of colorful donuts (including a gluten-free tower so everyone got to partake in some dessert!) while cafe lights strung above in the barn created the perfect ambiance. The biggest advice the newlyweds shared: "Take a few moments throughout the day and stop what you are doing and look around and just take everything in. You'll remember these moments the most."
