This Firefighter's Love for His Bride Melted Our Hearts

Originally from upstate New York and from central Virginia respectively, Melissa and Justin like to say the ocean brought them together, so there was no question that they would tie the knot at The Water Table that sits along Lake Rudee at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Inspired by the groom's firefighter career and a dash of rustic glimmer, the two Tinder-found lovebirds dreamed of a romantic celebration with their friends and family decked out in a merlot red, blush pink, and navy blue color palette.

In homage to the firefighter life, Kelley Stinson Photography captured Melissa's adorable fire gear-inspired garter, a mini fire ax for the cake cutting, and customized koozies with a flame emblem. It tied together perfectly with all the sparkly rose gold linens, a cascading bouquet filled with textured blooms that we want to live in for days, and shimmery bow-shaped napkins at the reception. Some of Melissa and Justin's favorite memories from their special day included getting ready with their besties and their private first look on the dock. Melissa gushed, "When Justin started crying, I melted inside. He can be such a Ron Swanson sometimes (shameless Parks and Rec reference!) but seeing his overjoyed expression and tears and receiving his hugs were the best feeling."
