Spooky Chic Halloween Wedding Must Haves

From specter delights to happily hauntings ever after, we love a Halloween wedding! Most couples having a spooky chic celebration typically look to having a non-traditional soirée, and that opens the graveyard gates into an endless realm of wedding possibilities. Since Halloween themes can sometimes get sandwiched between purple and orange explosion or a gory melting pot, we wanted to elevate the eerie theme into evening wedding elegance befitting of only the most sophisticated ghouls and goblins. Curated from Etsy, we unearthed the most bewitching finds for any couple who watches Nightmare Before Christmas in March, embroiders skulls on pillows, and anxiously awaits for the fall season the moment winter begins.

Classic Eastern Shore Historic Estate Wedding

This timeless wedding comes at you with a whole lot of history because both the bride and groom have family roots on the Eastern Shore dating back to the 17th century! Elkington Events, a lovely historic estate owned by the bride's great-grandparents since 1946, created the perfect setting for an elegant black tie wedding for Elizabeth and Will. Adding to the rich family heritage, some of the diamonds in her engagement rings had been passed down through the generations and made into a personal design. The bride also wore a garter made by her husband's great grandmother, and the wedding invitations you'll see below are photographed with Elizabeth's parents' and grandparents' very own wedding stationery. Consider our heart strings plucked!

In addition to the sweet dedications to heirlooms, Will and Elizabeth chose to highlight the local area so familiar to them with custom cufflinks made of a Coastal Virginia map, wooden rowboats for beverage basins, and even the groomsmen's gifts of colorful swim trunks on the beach. From a woodbrick pizza oven food station to a gorgeous champagne bar to another chic bar filled with amber and green glasses that Elizabeth collected herself, Brett Denfeld Photography captured not only the details but the spirit of the event underneath bistro lights and twinkling stars.

7 Steal-Worthy Wedding Ideas from Love It Up Wedding Event

Every so often, something pretty rad happens, and that radness totally happened on August 12, 2017. With interactive social media, mini summer events leading up to the big day, and engaging new concepts, Town Center of Virginia Beach transformed into a wedding wonderland throughout shops and restaurants alongside other incredible local wedding pros that we are proud to call Tidewater and Tulle Vendor Fam for the first annual Love It Up: A Wedding Experience.

We were so honored to have partnered with Town Center to bring a unique event to southeastern Virginia that was inclusive of all folks tying the knot. We passionately believe it's not a bridal world, but a wedding one, and Town Center shares the same heart, so it was a matchmade in community heaven for us to tie the knot to make this event happen. The diverse inspiration all throughout styled designs by local wedding pros and in-store setups were nothing short of thoughtful and innovative, so today, we're sharing our favorite seven steal-worthy ideas for your big day!

Sweetly Southern Hydrangea Wedding Inspiration

Oh my hydrangea! Everyone's favorite classic fluffy bunch of blooms is taking center stage in this Southern-infused wedding inspiration in its prettiest shades of blue and green, and we can't get enough of them! Paired with earthy browns of farm tables and X-back chairs and the painted whites of the Historic Obici House in Suffolk, sapphire blue pops in a gorgeous Mad Hatter Vintage velvet settee and glassware while a sweet couple showcases sweet smiles and charm.

Captured by Kelley Stinson Photography and designed by Misty Saves The Day, a simple modern quilted wedding cake surrounded by eucalyptus anchors a tablescape of candlesticks, magnolia leaves, and mismatched vintage china and a lush bouquet of roses, hydrangeas, and greenery creates a complete wedding look for the bride and groom. With silver as the leading metallic, everything is cool and breezy with this riverside inspiration!

Summery Mint and Peach Portsmouth Wedding

Katelyn and Evan's romance started in high school through social media connections and useful friends. A short time into their dating journey, they broke up for a mere two hours, but then Evan received a fortune cookie that told him to "Treasure what you have." He knew instantly that Katelyn was the treasure he had in his life, and from that point onward, their relationship flourished. What squeezes our sentimental hearts though is that Evan kept that same fortune cookie paper in his wallet every day and all the way to their wedding day, a sign that these two were meant to be from the beginning (or shall we cheekily say "mint to be"?).

In a color palette of peach and mint, these two destined lovebirds shared their favorite sweet details with their wedding guests at Woman's Club of Portsmouth. From wedding party laughter to a gorgeous lush floral-dappled ceremony cross at their altar to a yummy dinner menu from Montero's Restaurant, Ryann Winn Photography documented the day behind her lens. Katelyn and Evan go together like PB&J, and their forever story will always be remembered by that little fortune cookie.

Middle Eastern Trends To Inspire Your Beach Wedding

Last month, our editor-in-chief Chelsea had the honor of visiting Dubai and getting to know some of the local wedding community through the Arabian Academy of Wedding Planning as a guest speaker for their Wedding Biz Talk series at Arabian Ranches Golf Club. When we learned that beach weddings are hugely popular in Dubai because of its obvious coastal geography, we got excited and asked our friend, Bonita Carr, the Academy Career Advisor for this UAE campus, to share some of her local beach wedding trends with our Virginia couples. Inspiration surrounds us, and what better place to inspire than halfway across the world! So we will let her take it from here!

Fun Coral and Turquoise Outer Banks Wedding

For Merry and Trae, there were so many sweet memories on the beaches in the Outer Banks. From time spent there during their dating years to the moment when he dropped down on one knee and asked the biggest question of his life, it was at the beach where there relationship grew, so there was no question that they would get married in the same place with their closest friends and family.

At the Sanderling Resort, bright coral pinks and turquoise blues paired well with the clear beach sky and sandy shores, and it was all captured by Andrew and Tianna Photography. Coastal elements like driftwood and sea fans gave natural texture to the bright, airy reception space while Merry and Trae's wedding colors popped throughout the linens, florals, and the fabulous Lilly Pulitzer bridesmaid dresses dappled with sand dollars. We especially loved the gorgeous escort card tree with guest seating assignments hanging from coral and peach ribbons surrounded by oodles of roses, greenery, air plants, and tropical fauna. Hello, coastal wedding swoon!

Romantic Modern South Asian Wedding Inspiration

Be still our pink and texture lovin' hearts! We don't even know where to begin with this utterly romantic South Asian wedding inspiration! It's East meets West with modern chic detailing that will make any wedding lover swoon. From a vividly red and pink traditional wedding lehenga to a dusty rose evening gown, the bride (who is none other but Kinza Shah of In-Act Miss Pakistan USA 2016) enchants us with her embroidered and beaded attire only made more elegant with gilded designs while the handsome groom dons a complementary modern nehru jacket (long mandarin collared vest) with gold embellishments.

Captured by Snowdrop Photography and styled by House of Divya and Cre8tive Touch Events, tradition melds with contemporary aesthetic through the intricate henna, luxurious bridal jewelry, and rich colors in the diverse florals and tiered ombré cake. One of our favorites about this inspiration shoot is definitely the oh so charming rowboat draped in crimson roses, greenery, and magenta amaranthus. If that doesn't say newlywed romance perfection, then we don't know what will!

Other cozy vignettes include a hanging bohemian gauzy canopy over a vintage chaise lounge and a low dining table surrounded by lush pillows and fabrics which makes for a lovely intimate celebration under the stars. For couples looking to put a unique elegant spin on their Indian wedding day, get ready because you'll want to pin all of this!

Love and Paw Prints by the Water

Since their wedding will have a distinctively industrial chic style, Tiffany and Allen knew they wanted their engagement session with Molly Lichten Photography to be softer, outdoors, and in a very natural setting. And Pleasure House Point in Virginia was just the ideal spot for them! With its magical tall trees, long grasses, and soft, sandy stretches, it showcases the best of Coastal Virginia's landscape diversity. We sure do love when forests and waters meet!

To make it even sweeter, these two lovebirds even brought along their darling puppy Charlie who got in on the snuggle and giggle action. Between Tiffany's sweet handmade floral crown and flowy boho dress and the way Allen looks at her, our hearts are officially squeezed!

1+1= Too Cute Teacher Wedding Must Haves

ABC, one, two, three, baby, you and me girl! With a little Jackson 5 on our soundtrack and a whole lot of A+ inspiration, we're all about teacher brides and grooms! Our editor-in-chief was a teacher in her pre-wedding industry days, so this time of year is especially a soft spot when all the school supplies are out and "1st Day of School" photos are posted all over social media. Like most any professional, teachers are especially in love with what they do, so it only makes sense that that passion would carry over into their wedding days! Curated from Etsy, we counted up the cutest and chicest favorites for any bride or groom whose hearts sing for Sharpies on clearance, students acing their quizzes, and a good book read aloud.

Heartfelt Classic Norfolk Wedding

As much as we love the beautiful details of a wedding day, heartfelt stories are the ones that grip us most. Jamayca and Stephen have one of those loves that people notice. It’s a love they share with others and one they are not shy to proclaim to the world. Each portrait on their wedding day captured by Chelsea Anderson Photography is a continuation of their deep, strong love story that will only get better with time.

This mint-colored Norfolk wedding at Vista Point Center is full of little elements that would make anyone smile: a custom stitched handkerchief as a gift for mom, a gorgeous sweetheart neckline wedding gown with a cathedral veil that seems to stretch for miles, classic pastel green bridesmaid dresses set perfectly against a gray waterfront backdrop. Between the sweet moments of their day and all the happy vibes, this wedding fills our hearts with a whole lot of joy. It's what weddings are all about!

Sweet Whimsical Farm Wedding Inspiration

Get ready to be whimsified! With a palette of blush pink, pale blue, and greenery galore, you'll be smitten with these farm wedding ideas in this sweet wedding inspiration shoot at Back Bay Farms in Virginia Beach, especially when you see special cameos from a few four-legged friends!

Captured by Kathryn Sutter Photography and styled by Bridal Designs by Kirsten, outdoor beauty is complemented by rustic farm tables, playful hand-lettered stationery, shabby chic vintage furniture, and yummy local bites. Between the petite semi-naked wedding cake and the unique floral hairpieces each bridesmaid wears, everything just whistles southern charming at its best. For couples who envision a light-hearted celebration filled with country love, look no further than these whimsical ideas!

Sunshine and Slow Dances

After a rain storm passed through the area, the sun came out and Laura and TJ's engagement session at Beaverdam Park in Gloucester began as planned with Marie Hamilton Photography. Donning a printed pink floral dress, light blue button-up shirt, and khakis, these two lovebirds perfectly complemented each other while enjoying the beauty of nature all around them... especially when their pup Kora also matched the occasion with her very own pretty bright pink collar!

To celebrate their engagement, Laura and TJ were full of loving smiles, and as the perfect photography golden hour appeared, they shared a lovely slow dance against an idyllic waterside backdrop. So many swoons and what we hope for any engaged couple getting their camera time before they say I Do!
