Romantic Virginia Beach Sunset Engagement Session

Robert and Shannon both met as med school students at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. And one spring morning while vacationing in Myrtle Beach before their impending graduations, Shannon received a surprise phone call at 6:00am. It was Robert who said she needed to get up and get ready because he had a surprise for her. Confused and still tired, Shannon made her way to the bathroom to get ready for their outing where she found a photo and note taped to the mirror which contained some instructions for her.

It was a scavenger hunt! Right down to the beach... complete with love notes, rose petals, and of course, Shannon's favorite: a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee. She met Robert on the beach for a sunrise picnic of strawberry and whipped cream pancakes, but it wasn't just breakfast they shared. They shared the moment of excitement when Robert popped the big question with a beautiful engagement ring with a diamond from her grandmother!

When deciding on engagement photo locations with Karyn Johnson Photography, they knew that First Landing State Park with its beautiful beaches and Spanish moss was the perfect place for them. Shannon is a sweet spirit and kind disposition, and Robert has the same friendliness and was called "the nicest guy at EVMS" by his peers. It's no wonder they both want to enter the medical world to help take care and love on their patients. But for now, they're excited to continue caring for each other as they make their way to becoming husband and wife!
