Handmade Eclectic Backyard Wedding

With a story familiar to many of us in our local military community, James and Grace were first married several years ago in a small ceremony with their closest family and friends. Because James was serving our country, they did not have time to plan their dream wedding. So years passed, and James and Grace went through multiple deployments between New York to Florida. When they eventually came back to Virginia, this Mr. and Mrs. knew they would finally be here for at least a few years, so they knew it was time to throw the wedding they never had!

Captured by Karyn Johnson Photography, Grace had a vision for a celebration filled with lots of color like mustard yellow, cobalt blue, and burgundy red, plenty of cheerful flowers of sunflowers, ranunculus, and roses, and lovingly handmade details like a love ladder, a thank you banner, and a station of past family wedding photos to bring it all together at Country Villa Inn in Virginia Beach. With several years of marriage behind them, James and Grace had more to celebrate than ever before as their wedding dreams finally became a reality: a lively event with all of their loved ones.
