Williamsburg Wedding with Jumping the Broom Tradition

With vibrant orange and lime green as their color palette, there isn't one detail that doesn't express TJ and Audrey's bright and cheerful personalities! It was a modern, yet traditional day, particularly during the ceremony where the couple chose to pay homage to their heritage with the African wedding tradition of jumping the broom. We love the symbolism of binding the couple in marriage, "sweeping away" their old lives, and leaping into their new lives together as husband and wife. And TJ's smile at his bride afterwards that jump is everything wonderful about love!

Captured by DCPG Photography and designed by Vivid Expressions, the colorful tangerine bridesmaid dresses and dapper gray groomsmen suits complemented the colorful green elements of the Williamsburg Winery and the rest of the wedding vision. Between the stick figure cake topper to the personalized mad lib cards on the reception tables, dashes of quirky touches were woven throughout the special day. But the sweetest inspiration is that TJ and Audrey's love shone brightest as they held each other close and kissed during sunset portraits. And that's what it's all about.

Fun-Filled Virginia Beach Oceanfront Wedding

For Lawrence and Ann, some of their first memories together were the sweetest starting at Virginia Tech, but it wasn't until three years after that until he became the first person she had ever slow-danced with at a friend's wedding. The next thing led to the next, and soon, they were planning their own oceanfront wedding with Jamie Leigh Events by their side to create the perfect day for a future beautiful marriage together.

In love with the color teal, Ann and Lawrence planned their vibrant wedding at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. From moments like sweet sunset portraits on the beach underneath a gorgeous pink sky to memorial bouquet charms to cheeky reception signage to beautiful high-low floral mercury glass centerpieces by Palette of Petals, Andrew and Tianna Photography captured each detail. With personalized touches like a thumbprint guest book and can koozies for every guest, Lawrence and Laura danced the night away to their happily ever after.

Childhood Sweethearts and their Engagement Session in Hopewell

It's not every day you meet childhood sweethearts but these two are as sweet as they come! Cady and Buddy met when they were just 10 years old at a swim team meet at the Jordan Point Country Club in Prince George, Virginia. As young kids and all the cooties that come with it, Cady avoided Buddy, but he knew she was the girl of his dreams and wouldn't give up on her so quickly. As they grew older, Cady obviously no longer saw him with cooties, and they officially started dating in high school. After a college break, they realized they were simply meant for each other and have been together ever since.

Being near the water has always been important to them since water is essentially how they first met, so they knew that they wanted their engagement session with Verlee Bishop Photography to be at City Point Park in Hopewell -- a little bit of history, a bit of sunshine, and gorgeous waterside views. With their too-cute-for-words rescue dog, Jake, in tow, Cady and Buddy celebrated their upcoming wedding walking around this hidden gem of a park with their special engagement time together.

Elegant Multicultural Eastern Shore Wedding

Give us gorgeous succulents, handmade touches, and multicultural traditions, and we are officially obsessed. Leslie and Michael's DIY wedding day at Mimosa Farm on the Eastern Shore encapsulated everything they love – and everything their family and friends love about them. Dusty purple, navy blue bridesmaid dresses, and blush bouquets played perfectly against the soft white backdrop of their elegant barn venue as the pair said I do on what was sure to be the happiest day of their lives.

Filled with joy from the moment Michael saw his bride before the ceremony through the bubbles that greeted the newlyweds into their reception all the way through the last song, Elizabeth Henson Photos documented beautiful vintage glass centerpieces as well as special moments that otherwise would have slipped away. One of our favorite elements is the unique pairing of wedding invitations – one in English and one in Chinese to truly bring together the two families on such a momentous occasion.

Ocean-Inspired Boho Beach Wedding Inspiration

Inspired by the Atlantic ocean blues, this wedding inspiration is going to speak to all those who find their hearts with the water, coastal vibes, and a bohemian life! From the escort cards in mini glass bottles, the watercolor calligraphy, to the gilded naked cake, everything channeled the chic aesthetic for couples dreaming of laid back beach wedding days.

Captured by 3 Cats Photo and designed by AB Couture, dusty blue was showcased through the low wooden sweetheart table's lounge pillows and vintage plates while the deeper jewel-toned blue popped between the moody glassware and anchor emblem on the invitation. The bride's dress gave a hippie vibe with the large daisy lace over the neutral-colored liner which matched her loose fishbone braided asymmetrical hairstyle perfectly!

Barefoot and being in love are all you really need when it comes to a sweet beach celebration, but all of these gorgeous water-lovin' details help tell that romantic story all inspired by one of nature's greatest beauties: the ocean and its mighty waves.

Sweet and Stylish Libby Hill Park Engagement in Richmond

When they were just 16 years old, Tre and Nena met through mutual friends. They spent their first date hanging out by a neighborhood pond watching the sunset, and six years later, just days after their dating anniversary date, Tre asked Nena if she would pick up his nephew from that very pond. Thankfully, she happily agreed because when she arrived, Tre was standing at the end of the pond's bridge. As Nena got closer to him, he dropped down to one knee and asked her to be his wife. Romantic, thoughtful, and oh so genuine, those are the best kinds of proposals ever!

So when it came time to have their engagement session with Meredith Ryncarz Photography, Nena and Tre wanted that same kind of feeling of sweet, stylish, and low-key session at Libby Hill Park in Richmond.

Chic Blush and Gold Hermitage Wedding

Give us blush, gold, and butterflies, and it's the foundation for major swoon! Ashley and James were married at the beautiful Hermitage Museum and Gardens in Norfolk followed by a tented reception overlooking the water. Ashley and her ladies kicked off the special day with a turquoise champagne toast in their floral-printed robes, and it only got better from there! Deanna Casey Photography captured the day beautifully, utilizing the venue's popular ivy wall as the perfect backdrop for a fun gray and blush wedding party.

A string of flower petals carried Ashley and her dad down the aisle where she met her groom for not only the traditional wedding vows but a butterfly release right in the middle! Calligraphy gold signs greeted the guests at each turn, welcoming them to the different celebrations that happened throughout the day. Michelle Amarillo Event Planning was there to make every detail cohesive with the lovely twinkling string lights in the backdrop for an evening worth remembering. Get ready for a beautifully chic wedding day that will make your heart flutter like it did for Ashley and James!

DIY Duotone Leather Utensil Sleeves

As we reflect on the importance of gratitude this month, we have rehearsal dinners and the special purpose behind them on the mind. Not just for going over what happens at the ceremony the next day, it's the perfect way to express your thanks to your closest loved ones for their love, support, and involvement in making your wedding day become a reality. Smaller and more intimate than a wedding reception, you can do a lot more to personalize your rehearsal dinner no matter your budget! Inspired by upcycling leather scraps, we have created a gorgeous way to "say thanks" for your place settings with these DIY duotone leather utensil sleeves. They're no sew and so easy to make that you'll want to reuse them again for Thanksgiving!

Classic Coral and White Williamsburg Wedding

With bright coral bridesmaid dresses and an adorable first look with a first kiss twist through a door before the ceremony, Kristen and Phil kicked off their wedding day in colorful fun! A true Tidewater couple, the groom works in Norfolk, they bought their first house together in Suffolk just a few weeks before the wedding, and then got married in Williamsburg.

Lush greenery, a classic brooch bridal bouquet, and gorgeous white florals were highlights of this wedding, particularly the chandeliers covered in ferns to Williamsburg Winery barrels topped in the same. Cherry Blossom Planning Factory pulled together every detail to make the day perfect, and Ross Costanza Photography documented this special day from start to finish. Phil and Kristen are the epitome of joyful love that brought the wedding to a close underneath the beautiful night sky.

Vibrant and Eclectic Boho Fall Wedding Inspiration

If today's wedding inspiration doesn't get you in the "Happy Fall, y'all!" mood then we don't know what will! Coordinated by Hitch and Gather Event Specialists and captured by Fresh Look Photography, the rich autumnal color palette conveys a feeling of leaves falling and temperatures dropping. Beautiful teal and copper wedding invitations and calligraphy emblazoned with feathery appeal give guests the perfect prelude to this colorful celebration while an eclectic assortment of wooden vintage rentals, orange pillows and linens, and jewel-toned stemware set the scene for the ultimate vision of fall romance.

From snuggly blankets and hot cider channeling that cozy vibe to florals with pheasant feathers and dried lotus pods transporting us into a boho woodland wonderland, everything helps you smell that crisp autumn air! With the beautifully designed fall-inspired dessert bar with candied apples and chocolatey treats and soft feather and fabric garland as its backdrop, no detail was left out -- all of the five senses are certainly enticed. As the season sheds it warmth and puts on that comfy sweater, anyone looking to create a welcoming atmosphere at their fall wedding will be inspired by this beautiful shoot!

A Nurse and First Responder's Sunset Engagement

As a young girl, Ailsa moved from England with her parents and dreamed of becoming a nurse. Now as an ER trauma nurse, she enjoys and plays along when children misunderstand the pronunciation of her name (ALE-SAH) and think she's the queen of Disney's Frozen, Elsa. And her straight blonde hair doesn't help the confusion, but surely helps her young patients smile!

So it was no surprise when this nurse found and fell in love with a first responder named Steven. To celebrate their love for their area, Ailsa and Steven's engagement session with Amanda Manupella Photography was at Chicks Beach in Virginia Beach. With the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, grassy beach hills, and dreamy sunset light, it was an afternoon of smitten love between two people who give so much to their communities through their careers.
