Glowy Morning Poquoson Engagement Session

When Kelsey and Stephen were thinking about where they wanted to have their engagement session with Corrin Jasinski Photography, they both immediately said, "The Farm." Ever since Stephen was a little boy, he had spent hours and hours here, so it was really important and special that he now gets to share this sentimental place with the woman of his dreams (especially when she's gorgeously dressed in red for the occasion!).

This lovely farm in Poquoson has been in Stephen's family for generations, and like the families before, it will one day be given to Stephen and Kelsey. This beautiful sunrise session will be a great memory that they will show their future children and grandchildren to come!

5 Reasons to Visit Elizabeth City This Weekend

Gateway to the Outer Banks and home to the largest U.S. Coast Guard base in the country, a hidden gem of a small town aptly nicknamed The Harbor of Hospitality shines unpretentiously. From dog-friendly caf├ęs to diverse restaurant food to warm and welcoming locals, the town of Elizabeth City, North Carolina will charm your socks off and beckon you to make its lifestyle a future tradition for romantic getaways with your sweetie -- once, twice, or even a few times a year! Because why not? It's only an hour south of Norfolk!

Thanks to the Elizabeth City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, I had the chance to get to know this special town last month, and so today, I'm sharing the reasons why you should stop and smell the roses (at the local Mariner's Wharf, of course!) in E-City this weekend!

Colorful and Heart-Squeezing Rustic Vow Renewal

Oh, this vow renewal is one that will have you grabbing for your tissues! If these two lovebirds look familiar to you, you're right! We featured Katie and Landon's Fort Monroe elopement last year! Because of health complications, they moved up their original wedding date and turned it into an intimate elopement instead, but because life had thrown them a few other curveballs, they decided they still wanted to celebrate in a big way this past spring at the Woman's Club of Portsmouth.

Throughout their wedding planning, life gave them yet another reason to give thanks. Katie gave birth to their son at just 24 weeks old, and on their wedding day, he unfortunately was still in the hospital getting special care. Nevertheless, he was ever present at their wedding by way of a very memorable "ROAR!" dinosaur patch sewn into her wedding gown as well as a dedicated first dance together shared via a hospital livestream.

We could talk about these details all day long! From the donut cake to soft sage green neckties with tiny polka dots to the rustic decorations to the wildflower bridesmaid bouquets strewn with sunflowers (a floral theme carried over from their elopement!), everything was sweetly captured by Elizabeth Henson Photos. Katie and Landon's vow renewal is a beautiful reminder that life's many chapters are best shared together.

Soak up the #NoWorryMovement Vibes with Sandals

The tune of The Beach Boys' Kokomo is seriously the only thing playing on your brainwaves as you look out your plane's window and see the Bahamas below. Crystal turquoise blue waters, pale outlines of ocean-kissing sand, and palm trees swaying as if greeting you to the islands become the first of very many warm welcomes ahead. Because once you meet the Sandals Royal Bahamian crew at the airport, they are set and determined on making you feel like you are home away from home in one of the most idyllic tropical getaways you'll ever experience in the Caribbean.

A few months ago, I had the honor of joining my fellow Aisle Society gals for an unforgettable weekend in Nassau to get to know what the #NoWorryMovement is all about through the Sandals WeddingMoons all-inclusive adventure. And today, I'm sharing my top three favorite moments that completely melted my worries away into total vacay vibes and good times!

Sweet Williamsburg Engagement Session at Sunrise

Michael and Jessica met at the Tang Soo Do program at Virginia Tech, but it wasn't until after they graduated that they became more than friends. Fast forward to several years later, and they are now waiting on the cusp of becoming husband and wife!

From graduation to job changes to moving away from Virginia, the one thing they have had in common throughout this time has been their growing relationship. With Maria Grace Photography behind the lens, they celebrated their love on a beautiful morning at sunrise in Williamsburg. They all agreed that waking up in time for the sun to peek over the buildings and trees was totally worth every minute of sleep lost!

Rustic Country Style Wedding in Windsor

We love a down home country style wedding, and Carrie and David's celebration at Harley's Haven in Windsor is no exception! The bride and groom both come from farming families so it was no surprise that tractors, cotton, ham, and peanuts were incorporated into their special day. The rustic-themed love didn't just start at the wedding-- they had even met at Carrie's parents' little country store (which you'll see the homage to in one of the details below!) and got engaged in a pumpkin patch!

Even though it was unseasonably chilly and flurries fell the morning of their wedding, the skies cleared just before the ceremony at Smithfield Baptist Church, and the couple shared a sweet moment before they saw each other as they exchanged gifts. When it came to their BBQ-lovin' reception, it was all about food and family. Captured by Homeworks Video Productions, we love the vintage setup in front of a reclaimed wood wall, the food served in large iron skillets, Virginia peanut wedding favors, and the John Deere tractor groom's cake; it all tied in perfectly for these two lovebirds.

Party Like a Pineapple Bridal Shower Must Haves

Whether you hail from Williamsburg and its pineapple-bearing self or are a total summer bird for all things tropical, the pineapple is the symbol of ultimate hospitality... making it perfect as the theme or inspiration for any bridal shower! Welcome your guests with some fruity beauty and channel your inner pineapple. As one of our favorite quotes says, "Be a Pineapple: Stand Tall, Wear a Crown, and Be Sweet on the Inside." We raise our sunglasses and sunny vibes to all these super fun pineapple-inspired bridal shower goodies!

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream Wedding Ideas!

There is no greater love than the love of ice cream during summertime (well, okay, maybe next to beaches and fun pool floaties, too!). Apparently we aren't the only ones who think that because July 17th is National Ice Cream Day, so we rounded up the very best ice cream wedding ideas for you to scoop up and enjoy! And remember... everything is always better with sprinkles.

Sweet Yorktown Beach Engagement

Marc and Heather met when she joined ROTC at Columbus State University in Georgia and he who had graduated was waiting on some paperwork to come through to commission. What seemed like a frustrating delay was really fate. Heather decided to join the military when a turn of events blessed her with a little girl that she wouldn't trade for the world. The military wasn't something Heather had in mind originally, so when it came time to conduct a fitness test she couldn't run fast enough! So when Marc, a workout buff who was eager to lead and mentor, saw her struggle, he offered to show her around the gym. And the rest was history... until the proposal journey began, and we have it in Heather's own words and Meredith Ryncarz Photography's lens!

Fun Tan and Aqua Colored Norfolk Wedding

Jason and Abby's love story began when they were co-workers at a local Suffolk hospital, but what started out as a casual work relationship soon turned into much more. So when Jason got down on one knee on a weekend vacation in Nags Head, Abby was overjoyed at the future journey they would go on together. As she planned the wedding during some breaks from work for professional development, her most inescapable thought was the excitement of finally tying the knot in front of her family and friends.

With aqua details and pops of tan and white decorating Town Point Club in Norfolk, these two chose both fun and colorful elements to set the tone for a lively celebration captured by Andrew and Tianna Photography. Even their wedding hashtag prominently displayed on a chalkboard by the photo booth props made sure that their guests had a blast at the reception!
