Sentimental Mount Trashmore Engagement

For Virginia Beach natives, Mount Trashmore is synonymous with fireworks, running, and playgrounds. But the fun fact is that because Virginia Beach is very much below sea level, this manmade former landfill-turned-beautiful-park is literally the highest point in the entire city! So when this sweet engagement session from Diana Gordon Photography hit the inbox, my nostalgic heart melted a bit for this local loved icon.

Thanks to their careers, Philip and Ashley were brought here to Hampton Roads-- one in the Navy and the other a middle school math teacher-- and well, like this area is wont to do, they were brought together and fell in love with each other and southeastern Virginia.

And while Mt. Trashmore is a local icon to some, to Philip and Ashley, it was the very spot where Philip proposed to Ashley. It basically made it the perfect location for their engagement session to announce their wedding date. Who knows where the Navy will send them, but Dear Ole Mt. Trashy will forever hold some major sentimental memories for the many, many years to come!
