Purple Rustic Chesterfield Wedding

As Brett and his daughter were dealing with the abandonment of his former wife and her mother, Heidi entered the picture as a breath of fresh air and sign of hope for tomorrow. When he hugged Heidi for the first time, she said it was "the kind of hug you'd expect from someone you love but haven't seen in a long time, just sweet and safe." And Brett said it was Heidi's smile that made him believe in better times ahead.

It was a whirlwind romance meant to be and grown out of sorrow, so they knew they wanted their purple rustic wedding at Pocahontas State Park photographed by Nicki Metcalf Photography to have the theme of "growing together." But beyond the wedding and into their marriage, Heidi's beautiful words about her husband epitomizes what true love is all about:

He's my favorite person, my best friend. I think it's the grace he shows, not just to me but to everyone in his life-- from his parents to his former wife. It reminds me every day of God's grace, and it makes me strive to be a better partner to him, a better witness to my faith, a better worker at my job, and a better mother to Mackenzie. I could not wait just to be holding his hands. I knew no matter what else was going on everything would be okay as long as we were together.
