Navy Blue and Mint Green Beach Wedding

Remember that adorable Hokies-lovin' engagement session at Fort Monroe last year? We're so excited to have part deux: John and Michele's Outer Banks wedding day... and it was all planned within three months!

They met in class at Virginia Tech, and when graduation came, John started working in Chesapeake and Michele in DC. Like a lot of Virginian couples, the two spent nearly every weekend traveling to see the other. But then Spring of 2014 became the start of marriage talks, and it wasn't soon after that John proposed, and they were swept up into wedding planning! With a love for the beach, John and Michele decided early on that they wanted to get married in the Outer Banks. They quickly began looking at 2015 wedding dates, but within a few weeks of getting engaged, Michele found out that she was being transferred to Phoenix for her job.

John and Michele had to make a difficult decision. Do they do long distance for ten months while trying to plan a wedding? Do they both move across country for that time before the wedding? Did Michele need to quit her job? Or do they plan a wedding in three months and move out to Arizona as a married couple? After much thought and support from their loved ones, they decided that they were going to tackle the challenge of getting married in the Outer Banks in less than three months!

As destiny would have it, their venue, Pamlico Jacks, had one open Saturday for August. And it just happened to be the Saturday after Michele's last day of work, the Saturday that worked for each of their wedding party attendants, and the Saturday that most of their family could travel for their destination wedding. Everything seemed to fall into place in those three months and only foreshadowed that their beautiful seaside ceremony on Coquina Beach would be absolutely perfect. Thankfully, we have Karyn Johnson Photography so we can see the outcome of that perfect wedding forecast!
