Hampton Roads Wedding Venues for 150 Guests and Under

Our most frequent inquiry here at Tidewater and Tulle is always related to Hampton Roads wedding venues. So we're now presenting the second in this venue shortlist series with the help of Virginia Beach wedding planner Jill of Sunkissed Events and Design! :)

When it comes to finding the perfect venue for medium-sized weddings, you actually have the most options in Hampton Roads. Most hotels, parks, restaurants, private estates, and others can accommodate 150 guests and under. Start with what kind of "feel" you want your wedding to have. Do you want modern, rustic, urban, beachy, or classic? Once you know what kind of wedding you envision, it'll help you to create your venue shortlist. So while this is definitely not a comprehensive or complete list, please use this as a starting point to get you thinking about what can be out there in Hampton Roads!

BayVue Estate

Mathews County is an often overlooked part of Hampton Roads because it is the northernmost spot of our region, and it's a shame because there is so much space available! And for brides and grooms who like a bit more freedom, it's definitely look-worthy. BayVue Estate sits along the lovely Mobjack Bay, and its location makes it a gorgeous nautical and coastal local wedding venue. With sailboats in the distance and local fresh seafood right around the corner, all this place needs is a fun-lovin' couple with a love of the water!

Steinhilber's Restaurant

Tucked away in a residential area is the gem of a Virginia Beach restaurant, Steinhilber's. Since 1939, it's a place of love and family with one heck of a view on the Lynnhaven River. For weddings with 150 guests and under, Steiny's offers its expansive lawn and property for couples who want a more intimate, timeless feel. And you'll definitely want to add their signature fried shrimp to your cocktail hour!

Town Point Club

For couples who want that city feel to their wedding, Norfolk tends to be a great go-to spot! Located in the World Trade Center Building off of Main Street, Town Point Club's Buoy 36 and Lafayette Rooms accommodate up to 150 guests seated. Perhaps the even more neat detail though is their outdoor terrace with sleek see-through railings so your wedding guests can relax and enjoy the breeze off of the Elizabeth River. With cafe/bistro lighting, that terrace can be one romantic modern place and perfect for a wedding ambiance.

Holly Ridge Manor

For the rustic bride or groom, you can't get a more quintessential setting than a 60-acre farm estate with a large white colonial house and white picket fences running along gorgeous pastures. With access inside and outside of Holly Ridge Manor, couples have a lot of options when it comes to space. Tented receptions, cornhole game areas, and more, it's pretty easy to personalize this hidden Virginia Beach nugget into the perfect wedding.

And one of the best parts about being on a farm? A romantic horse and carriage ride for the happy couple is totally an option!
