Colorful Virginia Beach Wedding by Elizabeth Henson Photos

Originally from New York and Pittsburgh, Amy and Andrew knew they wanted a beach wedding because they had spent so many of their first dates down at the Oceanfront and now call Hampton Roads their home.

They loved that they could rent a beach house from Thursday to Monday to entertain out-of-town guests before and after the wedding. And while it gave them extra pairs of hands for setting up, it more importantly gave them extra quality time to spend with their families! It's a win-win and one of the best parts about having a beach wedding.

When reminiscing about their watermelon pink-dappled day, Amy shared a sweet memory:

It's hard to pick just one favorite moment of the day, but right before I walked out for the ceremony was a very special one. The bridal party got ready on the third floor of our beach house, and the balcony of the bedroom overlooked the beach where the ceremony took place. Minutes before the ceremony began, I stood at the sliding glass door and just watched everyone gathering onto the beach. I smiled and took it all in knowing all of these people were here to celebrate our big day with us.

Surrounded by family and friends and captured by Elizabeth of Elizabeth Henson Photos, this casual and hip couple had one fine day on the sands of Virginia Beach. You couldn't have wished for more perfect weather!
