Purple Norfolk Botanical Garden Wedding by Lindsay Fauver Photography

Dukes or Hokies? It was the question of the night, but the Dukes definitely won out in the color scheme department for Meghan and Matt's Norfolk Botanical Garden wedding! The splashes of purple and gray clearly repping Meghan's alma mater, James Madison University. To be fair, Lindsay of Lindsay Fauver Photography recalled that she was pretty sure the shoe game decided that Matt's alma mater, Virginia Tech, had the better football team. Competition aside, it was a day full of love and laughter.

Matt and Meghan both grew up in Newport News and originally met and started dating there. It is where their families still live and where they grew up, so it was extra special for them to be married at the Botanical Gardens.

And like many weddings, the threat of bad weather loomed, but it just wasn't even on Meghan's mind until Lindsay suggested that they squeeze in a few more pictures before the ceremony "in case" it rained. While the anxiety of having an outdoor ceremony was there, the bride said there was something magical about getting married in the rain if it happened. And even moreso when a huge boom of thunder just so happened right as your husband-to-be began his vows!
