Ford's Colony Military Wedding by Chris Malpass Photography

"We both moved to Williamsburg from our respective states of California and Florida around the same time. We met soon afterwards and dated for the next two years. Instead of heading to Nick's home state of Arizona or mine, Florida, we decided to embrace the city we fell in love in for our wedding," Jessica reminisced about their reason for getting married in Hampton Roads.

Avid travelers, jokers, and lovebirds, Nick is a Marine and Jessica is a librarian. This beautiful and partly DIY wedding and reception was small and personal. The floral arrangements were created the morning of from flowers sourced from the local Trader Joe's. The bride's father cut and notched all of the place card holders while the groom's mother provided hair styling for the bridal party. After a sweet First Look session before the ceremony, the bride walked down the aisle with her mother and father. The couple read beautifully personalized vows to each other surrounded by an autumn-bedeckled Ford's Colony Country Club and captured by Chris Malpass Photography.
